Our Dental Assistants
At Chestermere Station Pediatric Dentistry, our Intra-oral, or Level II dental assistants, are multi-skilled health care professionals, who possess a diverse knowledge base. Our dental assistants are friendly, professional and perform a variety of clinical procedures, including processing x-rays, obtaining preliminary impressions, providing preventative treatments, along with dental health education, as well as assisting our dentists with numerous dental procedures.
Their skills are constantly evolving as they engage in continuing education to learn about new technologies, procedures, and industry standards. Our dental assistants practice universal precautions and infection control, and their utmost concern is their patients’ well-being and comfort.
Dental Assistants perform preventive and prosthodontic intra-oral procedures as well as post-treatment care. This may include preliminary impressions, coronal polishing, and fluoride treatments. Intra-oral dental assistants expose and process dental radiographs for use in treatment as well.
Our Dental Assistant team also provides oral self-care, post-operative care, nutritional counselling, and dental health education to patients. Our dental assistants are an important part of our team, and they help ensure that the highest quality of care is provided at every visit.
Meet Our Pediatric Dental Assistants
Shannon – Registered Dental Assistant
I have been a Registered Dental Assistant since graduating from SAIT in 1999. For 15 years, I worked at two different pediatric offices in Calgary. In 2015 I was excited to hear that a pediatric dental office was opening closer to home.
My family and I have lived in Langdon, which is just east of Chestermere since 2004. One of my greatest joys is getting to work in my own community and building relationships with families near and far. I love the close-knit community spirit of this area.
We have an incredible team here at Chestermere Station Pediatrics and Orthodontics from the amazing top-notch dentists to the wonderful caring group of assistants and administrators. We are willing to do everything we can to make sure that no child ever has a traumatic experience. We do everything we can to build their comfort level in the dental office, and always hope they are excited to come back and see us again.

In my spare time, I like to spend time with my family, our dog and in Quilt shops.
Amber – Registered Dental Assistant
I graduated from NAIT Dental Assisting Program in 2012 in Edmonton. I grew up in Edmonton, moved to an acreage in northern Alberta for a couple of years, then ended up moving to Chestermere in April 2018.
My favourite part of working here at Chestermere Station is my amazing team! I truly love helping kids realize that the dentist can be fun, and NOT scary! I have two of my own kids, age 5 and 3.
Some things I enjoy in my spare time are crocheting, exploring with my kids, and travelling!
Brooke – Registered Dental Assistant
My name is Brooke. I have been a Dental Assistant since 2017, and I recently found my passion for working with children in the pediatric dental field. It brings me great joy to be able to provide a positive experience for children and having them come back excited to see us.
I have grown up in the area my whole life being raised on my family farm just outside of Chestermere. I am very grateful to be a part of the wonderful team at Chestermere Station, who I consider more like family than co-workers.
When I am not in the office, you can find me riding my horse or competing across Alberta in Barrel Racing.
Mackenzie – Registered Dental Assistant
